Hohka
Hohka is a lighting fixture for Furniture Design course (BA) / 2020.
Hohka is a pendant light which have light points on three different directions: up, down and side. Contrast between black stained wood and natural wood is one important part of the design.
Hohka is inspired by the same photo of the burned wood pieces than Hiillos sidetable. The starting point of the work was to design furniture that must be industrially productable, but it should have same atmosphere than Hiillos sidetable. For that reason the contrast between black stained wood and natural wood become very important part of the design. Hohka is very light and the form is modern, minimalist and geometric. Light points on three different directions: up, down and side. The main materials are solid oak wood, led-lightstripe with alumnium profile and electric cable and components. Also little piece metal is used to balance the pendant light. All wood parts are connected together by simple joints with glue. All the electric cables are hidden inside the wooden parts.
